Report on ‘The Rights of Older People’ by the Seanad Public Consultation Committee

Senator Zappone is a member of the Seanad Public Consultation Committee (SPCC),  which was established as part of the new procedures to open access to Seanad Éireann and its work, is to specify and publicise areas related to the legislative powers of the Seanad and issues of public policy and to invite submissions from the Public and Interest Groups.

In November 2011 Seanad Éireann‘s Public Consultation Committee invited submissions from relevant stakeholders on the Rights of Older People. Public hearings with senators on the floor of the Senate followed comprehensive written submissions. Expert briefings were also heard.
